hello!! do yew have any advice of hosting a ship week? ive been in thinking about hosting a different ggg ship week and i wanna know a bit of what i might have to deal with/do!
Hello! Here's some advice we've got:
Plan well ahead to know what you want to do. Me and Eli started thinking about hosting this around August and then held it at the end of September/beginning of August. Also, announcing the event a few weeks before it actually starts would be smart, so people who want to can prepare their work ahead of time.
When it comes to prompts, we chose to both think of some ourselves as well as ask other people what prompts they'd like to see, so if you need help finding prompts that could work!
Allow late submissions, since people may be busy, want to participate even after the event, or my just need more time to draw things.
Make sure to have your own ship week tag to keep track of what people make, you could also ask people to tag your blog as well (since tumblr tags really love hiding posts)
This is more of a personal choice based on personal preferences and stuff, but you could also space out the event so each day is technically two days. Along with having main and sub prompts, but again these (as well as everything we've said) are choices you could choose to go with yourself. Hope your ship week event if you end up holding it goes well!!
