#InsightsHDX @UNOCHA_EA The frog team wrapped three weeks of research today, interviewing humanitarian partners in New York, Colombia, and Kenya. Following synthesis of the field work, the frogs will partner with OCHA’s development team in an agile process to design core features, functionality, and experiences for the HDX platform. #frogImpact
#InsightsHDX @iHub Lessons learned at iHub Nairobi this afternoon: Data privacy is an issue at both the detail and aggregate level. When scraping data from social media, analytics can attribute patterns of behavior (such as hate speech) to individuals. This raises an ethical question around where data visualization should be applied and which audiences are appropriate consumers. #frogImpact
#InsightsHDX Reports (rather than raw data) are primarily shared among partners in the Humanitarian community. This makes it challenging to disaggregate datasets, compare information, and build comprehensive analytic tools. #frogImpact
#InsightsHDX @UNICEFKenya frog wrapped research in Colombia last week and relocated to Nairobi to continue explorations of the data landscape surrounding humanitarian work. With each conversation and collaboration, the global picture of humanitarian data exchange comes more into focus. #frogImpact

#InsightsHDX Sketching (and re-sketching) the cycle of Humanitarian Data. The iterative design process begins in the field and evolves with each conversation and observation. #frogImpact
#InsightsHDX Data flow models, affinity mapping cards, screen design worksheets, and coffee. Critical elements within frog's Design Research toolkit. #frogImpact @ochacolombia
#InsightsHDX The team arrived in Pasto, Colombia yesterday to meet with OCHA’s field office, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Victim’s Unit of the Govt. The region of Nariño faces many humanitarian issues including drug production and trafficking, homicides, and crime, as well as natural disasters from flooding to volcanic activity. #frogImpact @UnidadVictimas @ICRC
