The nest had always been a place of peace and serenity. It made Valka feel like she belonged and that she had finally found a home after nearly twenty years on Berk among dragon killing humans (humans who never knew how to listen).Ā
The foliage was vibrant, the nest thrived, and everything felt whole and good.Ā It was a sight that took her breathe away even after so many years...Ā
Her son would be around fifteen now...
The woman flinched at the stray, penetrating, thought.Ā
Her son... was he doing well? If she were to see him would she see the spitting image of his father or would she see--
No.Ā
She couldnāt let doubt cloud her judgement. While Hiccup had been born a wee thing she knew that he would undoubtedly grow to be a strong, stubborn viking just like his father. Ā
She shook her head, shaking herself from those thoughts and stood up, taking her time in walking along the nicely formed rock structure, heavily covered in moss though it did nothing to detract from the beauty that was the nest.
Now where in the world was Cloudjumper? Surely the stormcutter was hiding somewhere...
āOhhh you want to play like that donāt you?ā She laughed freely when heard the familiar warbling emanating from the rock above her.Ā
āOh youāre such a childĀ sometimes. Come down!ā The dragon merely held onto the rock tighter.Ā
āBy thor--fine! If thatās how you want to be! Big baby...ā She let out another chuckle as she walked past the stormcutterās hideaway and towards the large pool of water that naturally flowed in the center of the nest.Ā
Valka pretended that she didnāt notice the dragon following behind her.Ā
