this is longing, a grave dual occupation: the heart, the city. it is all i can see, your sweet white face  refracted into a million angles through a broken lens. inward, outward. roughly superimposed onto these cobblestone streets where you have never been.  it moves through space, reworking my sense of time and what i want out of it. playing memories where present thoughts should be; fast-forwarding my dreams into meteoric scintillations.  i wish away my days, preoccupied. a betrayal to my bones and mind, my flesh no longer seeking novel or live phenomena. a lady in waiting, i do not mean to be but i am. i am breathing in reverse. do you hear it? for you, for you, for you.
