So you may have noticed that I was upset last night and I wanted to explain a little bit of what is going on right now in my life.

So me and my ex share a group of friends, I have been trying to ignore discomfort for the sake of the group so no one had to pick sides. It has been getting harder over time though.

My 'friends' weren't really the best, none of them remembered my birthday, no one really asked if I was okay when we originally broke up but they asked after him.

Last night was super hard for me, we were both at the same party him with a young pretty girl, me alone and sad like usual. Our other friends arrived and started complementing him and all the new changes he's made to better his life since he met this new girl.

And fuck it hurt.

Last night I got home super depressed and just struggling in general. I thought I had shrugged it off after work though, until the group chat started going off.

One of our mutual friends wanted to do a group holiday with everyone and I just sent a message to let them know that if my ex was going I couldn't go because it would make me too uncomfortable.

My ex sent a laughing emoji in response to my comment, a couple of the others continuing the convo like I said nothing.

No one defended me.

No one cared.

So I have left the group chats on whatsapp and discord because this isn't right. I'm in a bad place right now and they are only adding to it. My parents think I am overreacting but I believe I am sticking by my boundaries and people shouldn't be my friends if they treat me with no respect.

This is not the first time something like this has happened; I don't want to even mention the time I outed someone for SAing me and they still invited him to parties with us all....

I guess I'm asking for any encouraging messages. Letting me know others opinions and maybe making me feel not to guilty about my choice.
