#freud rant

Well you’re not the first to ask so ok let’s do this:

Ima preface this by saying in my classics class after we finished Oedipus my professor got this little smile on his face and said ‘to quote Sigmund Freud…’ and the class reaction was visceral and immediate: everybody groaned, and most people in the room physically put their heads down to some extent.

Ok. So let me begin. Note, I guess take this all with a grain of salt because I’m too lazy to source and am on mobile anyways, but I promise I’m not spreading misinformation on purpose if any of that crops up here!

First off the dude is a TOTAL hack. He literally contradicts his original damn theories, and incidentally the bullshit started appearing after he was laughed out of a convention! Hmm! Wonder if THATS significant!

Two he’d purposefully trigger his own clients in front of an audience- these always being women and many of them being rape victims! This dude was scum!

But ok let’s talk actual statistics here I won’t just lambast his character! Lol!

His theories had little to NO empirical evidence, and in the modern day have been discredited out right. Because they were nonsense. The concept of penis envy?HELLO!??

Only a man could have written that without a hint of irony, and if we go deeper than that it gets worse (stupider). The whole Oedipal Complex is backed with BASICALLY NOTHING but he wrote it all smart like in a book so those stupid Victorians were like ‘oh damn that’s legit bruv’.
