the term is 'fre' from middle english 'frend', 'est' from 'best', + 'ial'! the colors are based on friendship bracelets — saturated colors, like pony beads. yellow represents platonic feelings, pink represents affection, purple represents feeling that this friendship is special/unique compared to one's typical platonic friendships, and turquoise represents positive emotions.
