Fresh Hare (1942)
Friz Freleng often expressed disdain for "hunting cartoons" in general and Elmer Fudd in particular. Perhaps this is why "Fresh Hare", while a frantic chase cartoon, isn't really about hunting. Indeed, if it weren't for the fact that Elmer is a law enforcement official and Bugs an outlaw one could easily imagine this as a Bugs vs. Yosemite Sam caper. Freleng's next Bugs vs. Elmer cartoon would further try to get away from the "hunting cartoon" conventions.
