This picture represents these twos situation-ship as a whole. Not to be delusional and think to deep into this buuuut hear me out. Gerard was the dominant parter (don’t just think of this in a sexual way weirdos) he cared for Frank obviously but pushed him around. He knew he could do whatever he wanted to Frank and he wouldn’t care bc Frank was in complete awe with Gerard. He used this to his advantage. Only touched Frank when HE wanted and other times would just NOT give Frank the attention he wanted, on purpose obviously.
While on the other side, Frank desperately wants to be loved and consumed by Gerard. He aches for him, for his love, his touch, anything. Frank lets Gerard absolutely rule him so he won’t lose him. Gerard is all the matters to him. Not the people watching, or other priorities and tasks. Just Gerard. Only gerard. His love was bittersweet and obsessive.
Franks full attention is on this embrace, while Gerard is distracted and careless, focused on something he finds more intriguing.
