Earthstar – French Skyline Label: ‎Sky Records – sky 031 Format: Vinyl, LP, Album Country: Germany Released: 1979

Earthstar’s LP French Skyline was released on famous German Record Label Sky Records in 1979. I would describe the music on Sky031 to be Electronic Instrumental Berlin-School, Ambient, Drone, and Experimental.

Earthstar surprisingly was not from Germany! The electronic music group was originally from Utica, New York, in the United States. Earthstar was conceived by keyboardist/synthesist Craig Wuest. After the release of their first album, Salterbarty Tales (1978), by Nashville-based Moontower Records, Wuest was encouraged by electronic music artist, composer, and producer Klaus Schulze to relocate to Germany where Earthstar was signed by Sky Records. Schulze co-produced French Skyline ( the group’s second album) in 1979.

Side A was recorded at Klaus Schulze studios, Hambühren, West Germany. Bass & strings recorded at Aura Sound Studio. Side B was recorded at Deponté la rue Studio, Paris. Additional recordings at ICs Studios Ovelgönne, W. Germany, Aura Sound Studios
