murky nights
Strolling down the dark, muddy streets
The somber yet warm city lights brighten up the dull alleys
A flurry of people coming in and out of divergent structures
It is at these nights only that I feel the everlasting emptiness which tends to claim my soul
The moon glistens in understanding
Its ethereal glow is a blanket of comfort
Thin droplets of water start to fall gently
The murky atmosphere starts to thicken
Seeing families and new couples
Fills my heart dark with resentment
For bitterness, it is a feeling I know all too well
