Jay looked up and over his shoulder at the voice. He’d been in the gym all morning and was packing up now, putting his sweat soaked shirt away in his bag as he pulled out a clean one. He pulled the clean shirt on as he stood and looked the woman over, “I don’t know you,” he answered plainly. Jay grabbed his water bottle and slung his bag over his shoulder.

“Can’t you take pictures of prettier things?” He knew her English was just fine, so he didn’t bother with anything else. “A few miles out there’s a crashed Huey, that I think is used as a playground now –– you know, nice stuff.” Maybe she wouldn’t even recognize him after all this time. Maybe that would be preferable, actually.
