Just finished freehanding Fitz's crest (inspired by the Assassin's apprentice cover) on the bannerthing).

anyway, character uses they/them and is nonbinary, name is pending but I’m liking Robbie Kilpatrick Monroe. Expect more of them I just decided they have roller skates on their costume so i’ve GOTTA draw a full body

Today's nail art is a tribute to everyone's favourite medic - Eugene Roe (okay, so maybe he's only a favourite of my fellow Band of Brothers fans).

It was also a journey into trying out some different techniques.

First off I had a bit of an experiment trying to find a shade the exact colour of WWII OD.  One of my colours was a smidge too green.  Another was way too yellowish-tan.  I tried a few mixes without success and in the end decided to just go with the green-grey shade I have - which is called Camo.

Next up - exercises in freehanding.  I decided to try the trick of using acrylic paint to do the designs, because mistakes can be scratched off (as long as there is a layer of dry topcoat beneath).  I realised at the last minute that I had no white acrylic paint so had to take an emergency trip to Officeworks, where the smallest tube available will probably last me forever and a day.

Seeing as I figured the T-4 insignia would be a fiddly bastard, I decided to paint them on my silicone mat and use the ones I liked most as decals.  My first attempt was actually pretty good - of course that meant my subsquent tries were all rubbish.

And in the end, it was too big for my nail anyway.  Maybe if I hadn't trimmed them the other day it would fit *sigh*.  So I had to bite the bullet and freehand them.

My nails are currently too small and my detailing brushes suck.  I cannot get fine enough lines.  The end result is reasonable, but a bit of a hot mess (don't even look at my right hand).  I like the nail with the red cross on it.  The original plan was just to do the cross on a white background, but I decided I'd make it look like an armband in the end, turned out well.

The things on my little fingers are not bows!  They are, of course, scissors.  And we also have the 2nd Batallion, 506th PIR spade to finish things off.

Freehanding! Had a lot of fun drawing this on my leg but I fucked up my back for a week as a result. Can't believe I used to tattoo my ankles.
