Things always work out as they should. This photograph with the cool beams of light coming down the middle of our temples is evidence of that. I felt much more aware of my light and the light within others today. There really isn't anything for us to do outside of desire, give thanks and enjoy what there is to enjoy. Earlier today, Vera Hope Walston gifted me an incredibly delicious and decadent lunch and stimulating conversation...just because. An abundant selection of food, belly laughs with grown, intelligent, sexy women who love themselves so fiercely that my self-love is a non-issue for them. Rare. Trust. Tonight, I was present to the miracle of the evolution of art, artistry and the artist only because I made a decision to be easy and truthful where it matters most: on the inside. It matters. It works. There has been lots of unlearning and recalling to do. There is still lots more but I am not where I used to be. And in the important ways, I am more me. Eshe Armah, myself and Maleeha Asghar (pictured left to right) started our novels in November of last year. If you think sentence structures and plot points are the only things shifting, expanding and editing down, you need to sit with a few writers. It is a beautiful and courageous journey and I am convinced that the universe loves me dearly for allowing my path to align with all the goddesses I communed with today. Congrats, Maleeha! Keep writing. I cannot wait to sit and sip and listen to more of your characters' Mumbai/Maryland adventures. For those who weren't in the house tonight, you will have yet another opportunity to hear Maleeha's new work on Thursday, April 21st! Cool, right? Mark your calendars!
