2, 21, and 34 for random asks!
2 - what is a dish from your cultural cuisine that you think is underrated?
Underrated... Let's say Palatschinken. Crepes and pancakes get all the good press but I' really don't think they've got some home pride here. They're thicker than crepes, but both bigger and thinner than pancakes, and they don't have any leavening in them. Which is to say *goldilocks voice* just right.
21 - do you have a favourite architectural feature?
I have a certain fondness for the pilaster, simply because my old art history teacher was very enthusiastic about them. Pilaster and Risalite, wait lemme google that, avant-corps, and avant corps with pilasters. I 100% agree with your answer earlier give that house some eyebrows.
(The English version of this article sadly doesn't call it the "House without Eyebrows" but it does refer to its "inapproppriate nakedness". So that's fun.)
However my real answer is. Well I don't know what it's called because it isn't quite a loggia or a window seat or a closed balcony but when there's a niche sticking out of a room and there's windows in it? And it changes the facade from the outside and you can sit in it curled up with a book and a hot drink? That thing.
34 - is there a historical figure or event that you wish people knew more about?
Who would I be in this moment in time if I didn't say Stella Benson. Listen. LISTEN. Do you want to read an urban fantasy novel set into a historical context? With a disabled main character and a focus on female relationships and neurodiversity? Do you want hilariously cutting commentary on the pitfalls of charitable organizations? You should read LIVING ALONE BY STELLA BENSON.
...and then you should post about it so that eventually, the university of Cambridge will take pity on me an publish her collected diaries on a different medium than locally-used microfiche, please, I am desperate, I have been looking up plane tickets and hostel prizes just to go be able to read them.
