Half Man looks incredibly fucked up and interesting to me from everything I see on dash. But I can't watch it bc it'd be much too intense and Fucked Up for me atm. Sad to miss out! Might try watch it another year though.

Love that whole scene so much... Boyd asking permission to use Reich's coat as a cover, shivering in the cold, slurring his words out at "I need you to tell me what to do", crying, bloody, visions of meat and the legend he heard from George across the screen while he thrashes his head around, "God damn you you're dead! You're safe now", mumbled words, shaking, him finally starting to cut Reich up with the knife after holding back for the longest he could and grunting with effort while he does so...

Then at 49:58 the cut to the outside of the pit, covered in evergreen branches forming a mound, as he emerges like he's reborn.... yes pretty boy!!! Leave your nest with Reich's coat over your shoulders!! Fly back to the fort a different man than you were when you left! ☺

I love when Boyd steps out into the snow about 10m into Ravenous and he looks about and blinks with an expression of wonder or surprise. It makes it seem like he's never seen snow before! And maybe he hasn't idk! It's cute.

Thinking about timeloop Ravenous alternative possibilities, where Boyd is reliving all or some part of the events of the movie over and over again. Trying to stop it all happening but he cannot, it just keeps ending in the same result. Getting more desperate and unhinged as the loop repeats...

#I'm a sucker for timeloop #of the desperation for something different to happen. of all the changes still leading to the same result. of the inescapablenesss....#but also. imagine if Boyd did manage to change it? after 1000 times living it and accepting it would never change. managing to save the #others and die together with Ives before it all goes wrong #OUGHHHHH #i love a tragedy where the events of the movie are really the only way it could have gone. but you can't help the “if only”#but then the movie is so perfect and beautiful. Rewatching Ravenous again and I'm marvelling at at the mere sight of Boyd's face in his first shot. Before it all happens... not bloodied or wild eyed yet, looking like a normal person... Very different to how he looks by the end of the film.
