For the Birthday Girl - 3
“An Earth dessert?” Balile asked, critically inspecting the pretty thing.
“It’s called a ‘cake’. It’s mortal tradition to serve it to one on their birthday,” Sanami wisely explained, holding up a finger, “And Lamica really wants this one.”
Balile looked at him. “My Lamica said she wants this ‘cake’?”
“No, but she was ogling over it while on your walk the other day.”
“She was? This cake?”
“Yes, though you didn’t notice because you were too busy lusting after her crop-top.”
Balile didn’t remember the cake, but he certainly remembered the crop-top. It was pink and white and said ‘princess’ or something on it. But mostly, he remembered how her ab muscles moved around her cute little belly button and the smooth arch of her back...
“Wait, how do you know what she was doing that day?!” Balile angrily demanded, his thick tail shooting up, “Were you lurking after us again?!”
Sanami turned his head and pushed out his lips. “I’m the Lord of the Hunt, I don’t ‘lurk’ I ‘stalk’, thank you very much. And second of all, I never stray far from Lamica, my whole purpose in taking on this mortal form was to protect her and ensure the future of the Fire Monkey Clan. So don’t make it weird.”
“You make it weird by doing it!” Balile shouted, jabbing a talon at him with conviction.
“Look, do you want to obtain this cake for your lady or what?”
