   in a family of seven children, sometimes it’s hard to catch attention. especially if you’re caught in the middle of the mix. it’s why louisa always has a few tricks up her sleeve. those get attention, even if just for a few seconds, or negative attention. but she didn’t have to worry about that today because, at least for the moment, she had maria all to herself. so fighting for attention. maria was great at that, dispersing her attention lovingly among the seven kids. “have you read pride and prejudice?” the whole reading thing tended to be brigitta’s thing, not hers.

Feels like he’s in one of those nightmares he had when he was a child. Can’t run very fast, and no matter how hard he tries to run, the bad guys are just around the corner.      “Come on, come on, come on.” He murmurs, and the moment he hears someone pick up - can’t even register fully, he’s babbling. “Help me. Please - I’m -...injured. I -... they're after me. I’m a Royal Air Force Pilot. Please.”

She prefers to stay positive- to smile in the face of terrible things and remain a sort of beacon of hope for those around her, but there are times when she cracks and allows herself a moment or two of solemn contemplation.

“ horrible things rarely become better. ” words supported by experience ---- andrei has seen the worst in his life, and though he has escaped, life barely clutched in pale hands, he knows that it has not ended. the setting has changed, and the years have passed, and memories of terror have lived inside his every night.
and the world worsens : threatens to drag him by the collar into what was supposed to be left in the past. he worries for his family too, and for himself : they will flee the war, if it comes, and he will not. thus the optimism before him, inherent in her answer, seems a small bandage over a gaping wound. “ horrible things pass, but they leave their mark. and new misfortunes oft rush to take their place. your worries are not misplaced, to say the least. ”
