I've been watching hannibal with my friend for the past couple months and it's great, an absolute work of art, and I adore this show. HOWEVER every time mason verger comes on screen I can barely sit through the episode and I have never seen anyone talk about how awful that man is (to be fair I'm not super deep into the fandom or anything but I would think I'd have seen anyone else talking about how viscerally disgusting he is holy shit)

I sometimes get random videos online of this girl who writes some webcomic based on Oscar Wilde, which in theory isn't bad, but every video I see of it, she's just saying the most insane stuff and over dramatizing every aspect of his life to make him come across as honestly kind of a truly horrible person at times (not saying Oscar Wilde was a perfect person and never did anything wrong, but I've seen her post some wild stuff) and it makes me lose my mind every time I see it. I am in no way an expert on Oscar Wilde, I read some of his works in middle school and got pretty fixated on him because of it, but I know enough to know when you're just using real people to make a glorified fanfiction about someone who is really interesting, while falling into a lot of stereotyping subconsciously and completely fictionalizing certain events to fit a storyline.
Like girl, why did you advertise it as him and his wife being in a lavender marriage for the longest time, but then later post where she finds out he's gay and hates him for it??? That's just bad writing??? And any time a person who studied Oscar Wilde extensively or just generally knows more on a subject more calls out misleading or flat out false information she's always super condescending or just ignores them??? Obviously, if it was an original comic, and someone was spouting unsolicited advice this much, you should ignore them, but if you are writing a comic that is meant to be a somewhat fictionalised retelling of a real person's life you CANNOT be mad when someone who knows more points out that you're falling into stereotypes or misinformation or whatever else.
And I always end up forgetting about it and never remember to block her so she just jump scares me with her nonsense.
it's so bizarre having a skewed sense of self. like. I've never done anything. I'm animating an entire album by hand. I'm the head animator on a show my friend is writing. I have no future or prospects. I'm in charge of all the art related to my friend's book. I'm the costume designer for a play and drama showcase that some people I know are in. I am not a good artist. I have no career in the arts. I've written three songs. I've been in multiple art shows. I am entirely anti-social. all my opportunities have been because of people I get to call friends. I'm a failure in everything I pursue. I've never gotten a grade lower than 82% in my life. I have no reason to be so fucked up. everyone I know who hears about my life gets worried.
something I've noticed that really pisses me off and grosses me out is the fact that people are more judgemental of people who read/write x reader fanfiction than they are of people who use chatbots. I don't know if this is a common thing, but I've seen it a lot where people act like readers & writers of x reader stuff are weird and creepy or cringey but act like fucking chatbots aren't the most creepy, weird shit ever???
My friend is writing a book, and in the first draft there's this one character who essentially only exists as a plot device, he's not important so he's just fleshed out enough that he doesn't stick out as underdeveloped. I however am in charge of all the art (cover art, promotional art, etc.) and I am one of the editors, and as soon as I found out about that little freak I got so attached that not only will he be a titular character in the already planned out sequel, but I also get free reign over like 98% of his character

really love how my 46 year old mother let me rant about the mechanisms for over an hour and then fully just decided that she's gonna listen to them now just because my nonsense rambles made them seem cool.
She almost strictly listens to folk music and Alanis Morriset kind of music.

hey y'all, I'm so sorry if you're following me for my writing or in any way interested in what I write, I know I haven't been posting anything, I've been sick and so exhausted I haven't had the energy to write, so I've been focused on art instead since it takes less energy. I've also been focusing on some personal stuff and just haven't been able to get anything done. I promise I am still working on things (mainly IISHISKH 3 and a certain req) and they should be posted soon enough.
Sometimes I think about the one time my Catholic middle school let me be in charge of costume design for a play one of the teachers wrote and out of spite I just showed up in full drag for my character
