So I've already said that two of my favourite things in hypnosis are fractionation and resistance right? What if we merge the two?
Let's imagine that from the time you first learn of hypnosis to now is one giant hypnosis session .
That first initial curiosity that steadily draws you into wanting more. You don't have to give in to that curiosity, you don't have to learn more about it or even try it, but you do. That's the initial drop. Afterwards, curiosity sated, you might continue looking into it more or you might get on with your life and forget about it for a while.
Eventually you go back though, seeking that drop again, that place were your thoughts go fuzzy at the edges. You could reach for them, but why would you when it feels so good to just let them drift away and relax. It's nice to not have to think or worry or decide for a little while. It feels good, so it must be okay to seek it out again right? One more script couldn't hurt, another file won't brainwash you into a hypnohorny pet. Afterall, you're the one in control, hypnosis can't do anything you don't want it to. You're just doing it to relax, to take a little break, there's nothing wrong with that is there?
Eventually you'll begin to notice how more and more of your time is spent looking for more scripts, finding out different techniques and doing your best to let go of your own thoughts. Now, at this point, you may be starting to feel a little worried, there might be a hint of concern and you might try and distance yourself from hypnosis for a while. You delete all the bookmarked files, scripts, stop following all those hypnosis blogs you had started binging and you return to normal life. This is the first bit of resistance. You get back into the swing of things and busy yourself with other things until hypnosis becomes a quiet memory and fades away.
Maybe you last a few months, but eventually something will happen that draws you back into it. You might be watching a movie that just happens to have hypnosis in it, you might be reading a book and a character's eyes are described as mesmerising. It might even just be brought up casually in a conversation, but however it happens, you are reminded of hypnosis and once the brain has experienced something, it never completely forgets. It only takes that one tiny little mention, and you spiral back into that obsession, you drop even faster, even deeper than before. You somehow remember all the scripts you had read and files you had listened to despite deleting them. You eventually find all the hypnosis blogs you were following. It doesn't take long. Not as long as it should. Because your mind remembers. It remembers the sweet sleepy surrender, the fuzz that enveloped your mind that made you feel so warm and at peace
This cycle continues over and over and over again. You drop deep into the spiral of hypnosis before waking again, realising that this may not be the best thing for you, that you should probably hold on to your thoughts, that you need them for the real world. Inevitably though, overwhelmed with stress or maybe just craving the drop, you fall again, floating into relaxation and blanking into bliss. Over and over again, in and out of trance. The gaps between the drops shorten, your reasons for staying away become weaker and you believe them less. Afterall, if hypnosis was bad for you, then it wouldn't feel so good would it?
So just accept that hypnosis is good for you, that it feels right, and spiral deeper into the place that your mind loves oh so much
