I.
he is … different. a curious young thing, not really special but still enough to catch your attention for longer than a glimpse. maybe it’s the way the child fights the parasite trying to take over his body and mind, maybe it’s something else that you don’t bother to name ; whatever it really is, you don’t care at all. you stay close and watch and wait, because this one is crude and empty and DULL but you know you can make a beautiful masterpiece out of it. it’ll take some time, but that’s okay.
you have all the time in the universe.
II.
you don’t think he really understands what / WHO / you are, but you take no offense on his lack of knowledge. it’s somewhat funny to watch, interesting enough to make you stay for longer than what you first intended. and you know the PARASITE hates it, it hates you and that just makes your whim to stay stronger than before. you enjoy messing with the thing, and you can’t help but wonder, sometimes, if it makes everything easier for the child to fight back.
sometimes you don’t mind giving a hand. you have many to spare.
III.
you don’t BELONG and you never will, but sometimes the child reminds you of long - forgotten times where you used to have a ‘ family ‘. the word still tastes bitter in your mouth because they never were your family, not really / except for the little one. you dare to miss her, sometimes. but this child is different in his stubbornness, and it’s charming in its own way. it almost makes you feel at ease, at peace in a world that sooner or later would die by your hand.
and you stay for a little longer. the cosmos can wait for your return.
IV.
you can see the corruption spreading beneath skin, within his veins. it’s ugly, just as the parasite growing strong and you wish there was a way to rip it out without causing too much damage / and in another time you wouldn’t even care about the host’s well - being but for once you’re allowing yourself to be a bit more like the creature you’ve been crafted to be / what your siblings should’ve been had they not turned their backs to the mortal ones they should protect.
( and THEY call YOU a monster. )
