Advent Calendar, day 3: Supergirl

Location: Cathedral Square, Vancouver, Canada

For day three, we’re keeping with the superhero team and staying in our favorite city in the world: Vancouver. This is a shot from Cathedral Square, just outside of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, a beautiful old church nestled amongst the downtown high-rises. Supergirl is one of the four superhero shows by CW that films in Vancouver. After the amazing crossover episodes Crisis on Earth-X that they just did, we can’t wait to finish our full Vancouver filming location guide containing all four shows!

Advent Calendar, day 10: Captain America Civil War

Location: Atlanta, GA, USA

“We love visiting filming locations because it takes us to some really amazing places that are not in the regular tourist guides!” Well, sometimes it also takes us to random alleys and parking garages. This scene from Captain America: Civil War takes place supposedly in a Berlin airport parking facility. It was actually filmed in a parking garage in Midtown Atlanta, just a couple of blocks away from the legendary Fox Theater where one of the movie’s red carpet premieres was held.

Advent Calendar, day 17: Stranger Things

Location: Stockbridge Senior High School, Stockbridge, GA

One of the most iconic shots from the new season of Stranger Things was the guys in their Ghostbusters Halloween costumes in front of Hawkins Middle School. That and all the other scenes at the school were actually filmed at Stockbridge High School. It served as both Hawkins High School and Middle School, thanks to the sprawling campus.

As a bonus, we’ve included another one of our Stranger Things sceneframes. This one’s from Bradley’s Piggly Wiggly Express in Palmetto and it’s where Eleven walks into the store, grabs an armful of Eggos and just walks out. We did some shopping of our own but unfortunately couldn’t pack any Eggos in our suitcases :D

Advent Calendar, day 11: The X-Files

Location: Elements Casino, Surrey BC

It may have been an airport in Texas on The X-Files, but in real life it’s actually a casino in Surrey, British Columbia. About an hour’s drive from downtown Vancouver, Elements Casino also has a concert venue and a restaurant on site. There are some indoor scenes on the show from the “airport” as well but sadly due to security reasons we were unable to take photos inside the casino. If you’re into gambling though, this location is definitely for you!

Advent Calendar, day 1: Deadpool 

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Let’s kick things off with something that kicks ass: a jolly guy in a red suit. No, we’re not talking about Santa, we’re talking about #Deadpool. In classy Deadpool style there’s a port-a-potty in our shot but you can blame #iZombie for that. They were filming nearby and their base was set up right in our Deadpool location! Lucky for us, they gave us special permission to do our thing in the middle of all their equipment.

Advent Calendar, day 14: Captain America The First Avenger

Location: Location: Albert Dock, Liverpool, UK

Albert Dock in Liverpool is a lovely tourist area. There’s The Beatles Story and loads of fun little shops and restaurants and even a maritime museum. It’s also where we took this shot from Captain America: The First Avenger. Fun fact: it’s not actually filmed there, as we later found out. There are several of these docks along the Mersey River and they all look a lot alike. The actual filming location for the movie is a little bit north from where we were at Stanley Dock. It’s currently under construction and sadly will no longer look anything like it does in the movie once it’s done. Luckily we still have Albert Dock!

Advent Calendar, day 24: Fangirl Quest

Location: Timberland Motel & Campground, Surrey, BC

Okay so technically it’s a Supernatural location. They’ve more than earned two spots on our advent calendar because come on, it’s Supernatural. However, for Christmas Eve we wanted to do something a little different.

In 2016 we were at the Timberland Motel & Campground when Supernatural was filming. Sadly we had to leave for our flight before we got to see any of the real action, but we were lucky enough to meet Baby herself! Thanks to some very lovely crew members we even got a selfie with The Most Beautiful Car in the World. A year later we came back with brand new screenshots from the latest season - and one awesome car selfie.

Advent Calendar, day 21: Peaky Blinders
