Ornate. He used the word ornate. He literally could've used any other words, way more general ones like beautiful or pretty or pleasing or not even give an aesthetic appreciation just a good job on getting his order right. Ornate is such a specific word. It's implies a certain level of elaborate details that requires both high effort, care, and skill. Ornate implies complexity that requires excess time. His attention to it is such a contrast to what he supposed to be. He's the commander of the darkness army and supervisor of the cake factory. His job is to mass-produced soldiers, make sure they're good enough that they wouldn't immediately die in the front lines. He doesn't have time for ornate. He shouldn't pay attention to it even! "Ornate" literally goes agaisn't his directives. It doesn't support his cause at all. Its actively detrimental to it. There's no way he was raised to care for useless beauty. He should not care for ornate at all, he should've actively shunned it even. Yet he has an eye for it
