Guys, after over 7 years of posting my art online, I’m here to announce that it’s time for a change! Sorrel will be retiring from the role of my brand representative after being the head of all of my art accounts since May of 2012. This little calico cat has been with me through It All, and I’ll be sad to see her go, but she just doesn’t fit who I am anymore. Not to mention how hard it was to explain to people I know irl that my tumblr blog is named after my warrior cats OC (yes, if you didn’t already know, Sorrel/Sorrelheart was my fan character from 7th grade, complete with an ~edgy backstory~ that I no longer remember). I haven’t even read those books since middle school! But I’m the sentimental type and couldn’t let go of her or my username, so I dropped her warrior suffix and tried in vain to pretend that she wasn’t the result of a 12-year-old’s daydreams. But coming up with her inspired me to draw her, which in turn inspired me to take the time to improve my drawing skills, so Sorrel totally changed the course of my life! Because of all of this (plus my dislike of deleting things), I’m writing a whole sappy post instead of just quietly changing my icon and username like a normal human being. This little imaginary cat can finally take a break now and retire alongside everyone else’s middle school OCs! 

I’m over halfway through college, and earlier this year I decided that it’s time to do some spring cleaning of my online art accounts. I always felt uncomfortable sharing my profiles with people I knew irl because my deviantART and tumblr blog were where I projected some personal thoughts into the void of the internet (also, again, the warrior cats OC username), but at this point I’ve lost almost all sense of embarrassment. Sorrel just isn’t a good fit for what I’m going for anymore! So it’s time for a full rebranding. New icon, new username, and a unified look! 

Taking my dumb little talent in stride, my new username is FourLeafAlliance (4LeafAlliance on twitter-- thanks character limit!!). Some of you that have been around for awhile may have originally known me as Shay, but my name is Ally. Pronounce it like either the name or the word, I respond to both! For those I know in real life: Hi there, I’ll try not to embarrass you! For those that are brand new: Hello as well! Welcome to the Four-Leaf Alliance, where thrift store fashion and paranoid optimism are the vibe. And for those online who’ve been around for awhile: thank you :) without any of y’all I wouldn’t have had the confidence to continually toss my art into the internet void!
