Evelyn grew up in a busy household in Oasis Springs. Both her mothers had demanding jobs, but the house was always alive with family coming and going and her rambunctious siblings, Emmett and Esmee. Evelyn wanted to replicate this life as an adult and become a well-respected artist.

Tragedy struck early for Evelyn and her siblings when they lost their mother, Amara. It pushed Evelyn to work hard to follow in her footsteps into a creative career. Her artwork was strong even as a teen. The only thing she couldn't get right was relationships. Her first boyfriend at 17 made her feel small, and an unexpected pregnancy led to their dramatic breakup. She always had a crush on her best friend, Zach, but told herself it would never happen.

After the death of her remaining parent, Danica, when Evelyn was a young adult, she had to take charge of her younger sister, who was having treatment for a serious illness. She began to lose herself and her joy in making art. Esmee and her friends encouraged her to get out of the house, so she tried the gym. She met Alberto, her personal trainer, and when they discovered they were neighbours, they began hanging out. It became a romantic relationship, and finally, Evelyn let herself believe she could have a happy ending. Alberto, however, became controlling and demanding. Esmee hated him, and Evelyn’s world turned upside down when she discovered she was pregnant. This time, she wanted to keep her child and build a life with a man she thought she loved. She thought a child could fix the cracks in their relationship, and little Florence was born.

The relationship ended when Evelyn caught Alberto being unfaithful. It was clear that his paranoid and controlling behaviour, which alienated her from family and friends, was due to his own infidelities. Evelyn left her apartment with her daughter and turned to her best friend, Zach.

While living together, she and Zach realised they had feelings for each other all along and decided to start a relationship. Evelyn was finally happy, thriving in her career and building the loving family she had always dreamed of. Zach was a great father figure for Florence. Though Evelyn never denied her daughter time with her real father, she and Zach saved for a larger home and eventually decided to complete their family with a little brother for Florence, Fabien.

The only issue was that the dream of a big, happy family was slightly shattered as Florence grew older; the idea of sharing her mother and being a big sister was not appealing.

Growing up in Willow Creek, Danica saw little opportunity. A deep thinker, she knew she wanted to go to university and leave her sleepy town. It was here she met her wife, Amara. After graduation, they purchased a small home in Amara's hometown of Oasis Springs. Danica's ambition never faded with her loving wife by her side. She rose to the top of her political career, and together they welcomed three children.

Family was always central to Danica's life. She hosted weekly gatherings with her siblings, their children, and her own. She made time for her friends and treasured moments outdoors, meditating or walking her dogs.
