We (supposedly) have trial this week. We have multiple days scheduled. I’ve been told it would be better for me to skip so as not to antagonize the situation. They don’t want to call me as a witness, which is slightly odd as I was one last time. Honestly, it’s fine. And maybe they’re right.
My only concern is we have had no consistent case management and the documentation is wrong in their system. I forwarded info last week so they could prepare for trial. Info they should have already had (I previously copied them on all emails).
DCFS is confused because the parents haven’t added any character witnesses to their list. Maybe they would if I was listed. They’re refusing to sign an agreement, they are fighting, but they’re not building a strong case. The last two times I did this, the parents called tons of people to say how great they were.
They are both going to testify, which means they will both lie on the stand. I can only hope this judge is astute enough to see through BS. This family knows how to work the system and years of manipulation have occurred. They will say what needs to be said to get their kid back. Let’s just hope someone has verified. Because what they say always sounds really good but it does not ever align with reality. There are pending federal charges, but someone will need to pull police reports to put them into the record. They don’t always remember to pull police reports.
I should be very, very clear for anyone reading this who hasn’t followed our story — I am pro-reunification. I have reunified kids. But this is the third child I am parenting from the same family and since I met them over a decade ago nothing has changed. They have been given every opportunity — free housing, free job training, free parenting classes, free therapy, etc. And there are still violent charges over and over and they do not shield their kids. The kids are in the middle. They are not safe.
I don’t trust the system. Part of me anticipates saying goodbye to Baby Henry this week. It would be truly ludicrous, but I’ve seen it before. I just want him to be safe.

waiting on details for this but if you're in the Athens, Georgia area, I need an immediate foster parent for an eight week old kitten that was thrown from a car
Click here if you just want to give it a go on Ao3
Here's a Wattpad version if it's better for you
Anyways, it's a CoD Superhero AU with a gender neutral reader insert :D
BUT there's no Character x Reader because you're a minor whose new foster parents happen to be Simon and Johnny
You're also secretly an outlaw, using your power illegally just for fun, until Makarov escapes and you get involved in his shit even though you don't want to.
So now you have to prove that you don't know Makarov, escape from heroes like Ghost, Soap, Price, etc. and try to be a good kid in your foster home, not knowing that you live with superheroes who you hate (it's not the plot twist)
It contains fluff, hurt/comfort, angst it's literally just a comfort fic

Just a little tidbit to celebrate the non closure of BuckTommy this week
It’s not the first time they've been woken up by the baby monitor coming to life with cries, but these cries? They feel different, and they both stand up to go to Noah’s room. Tommy is the first one inside, Buck almost hitting the wall when they both jumped off the bed at the sudden cries, losing a few seconds to get his bearings back.
Noah’s mouth is wide open and the most gut wrenching cries are leaving it, Buck wants to cry immediately, crowding Tommy as he picks up Noah from the bed and hug him to his chest, asking Noah what is going on, knowing well that their boy can’t answer it but still trying either way, lizard brain taking over.
Under the bedroom light that Tommy turned on when he barged in seconds before, Buck can see Noah’s face turning red from his screaming and his heart breaks, and if the look on Tommy’s face is any indication, so does his husband’s.
“Does he need changing?” asks Buck.
Tommy pulls the boy up a little as he lowers his head, trying to get a sense of the situation in Noah’s pajamas with his nose.
“I don’t think he needs to, but we can try that. Can you make him a bottle?” Tommy asks, looking briefly at Buck before walking toward the changing table and working on unbuttoning the frankly too complicated onesie they put on Noah before bed. Damn Tommy’s rich friends who sent them a batch of luxury onesies that are too cute not to put on their boy, but which have always too many buttons and too much fabric.
He walks toward the table and kisses the little foot that moves around while Noah keeps screaming and squirming under Tommy’s hands.
“Gonna get you some food, okay baby?” he whispers before leaving the room and speed walking toward the kitchen where he takes a bottle from the sanitizer where they keep them and starts working on a bottle for Noah.
Tommy appears in the kitchen with a whimpering Noah in his arms, in a new and simpler onesie.
“His diaper was empty, so it wasn’t that. I checked his temperature, and he was at 100.8 but I’m not sure if it’s a fever or just because he was warm in his bed. I’ll check again in a few minutes.”
Buck grimaces a little. It would have been too simple if it were just because Noah felt uncomfortable and nods at the information about the temperature. It would be a mild fever if it’s indeed Noah’s temperature, but he knows how warm the boy feels when he sleeps for hours, like a warm croissant slowly baking in his crib.
He puts some water to heat and drops his baking thermometer in it while Tommy walks around the kitchen, bouncing Noah on his hip as the boy whimpers and grumbles.
It takes a two minutes for the thermometer to beep once the water reach the temperature he wanted, and with quick movements he gets the formula in the water and start shaking it to mix it before placing it under some cold water to cool it, doing a few temperature check on the inside of his arm before giving the bottle to Tommy once he’s satisfied with it.
They all stand together as Tommy tries to feed the bottle to Noah, who at first accepts the nipple of the bottle in his mouth and takes a few sips before spitting it all out on Tommy’s chest with new tears welling up in his eyes.
“You should check his temperature again,” he says to Tommy, who nods before walking back toward Noah’s room, Buck following them like a duckling.
It only takes a few seconds this time for Tommy to undress him this time and a few more before the thermometer beeps.
“101.00,” says Tommy, frowning at the thermometer in his hand, his other hand still rubbing Noah’s stomach trying to comfort and soothe.
“Shit,” says Buck before grimacing when he remembers that they’re supposed to watch what they say around Noah.
“Should we call Hen?”
Buck nods before going back to their room to pick up his phone, trying to call Hen while Tommy whispers in Noah’s ear, too low for Buck to catch.
The call goes directly to voicemail, so does the second.
“Baby tylenol? It should lower the temperature,” he says to Tommy, who nods and goes toward the bathroom, the boy still whimpering in his arms.
He’s tapping on Hen’s contact again we finally realize the time, 3:07am. Hen would be asleep, of course.
Buck closes his eyes and takes a big breath in before releasing it, trying to center himself again. They’re both first responders, not just parents. Being worried about fever is normal, but they can’t panic when they have to take care of their boy.

Franchaela being wardens (the adoption of that time) to John II and Janet II, let's say as nephews of Queen Charlotte in the Regency era could be a possible option for Queen Charlotte to be close to the Bridgertons and to Francesca in particular after she rejected the offer of marrying Lord Samadani.
Also, that way Franchaela could be together without problem being aided by the Queen if Michaela is a spy for the Crown as I had suggested before.
And if in the end Kilmartin goes back to the crown, Franchaela is immortalized in history as a great aid for the Queen and that they were honored by the royal court and the next heir: one of the illegitimate grandchildren of QC is grateful towards Franchaela.
