feesh! yoinked this old DTIYS prompt from @fossilforager (like really old, back from 2020) as interpreted by Kaitlin Hoyt. (Unfortunately I cannot find the original prompt, but the second image is Hoyt's version as a neon tetra.)
[Image description: First picture is a realistic gel pen drawing of a neon tetra with small patches of moss growing on its back, surrounded by small four-pointed stars. The second image is a digital rendering of the same subject by a different artist, against a black background, with text that reads, "DRAW THIS IN YOUR STYLE! #faunaparra30KDTIYS". End image description.]
Invertober Day 6: I did this coconut octopus walking around with a shell for the prompt for October 6, but it's fitting that I'm uploading this more detailed version on World Octopus Day, October 8. I probably should've placed the octopus a little higher on the page. Pentel brushpen, Faber-Castell brushpen, Prismacolor fine-line markers, and Sharpie fine-line marker on Canson mixed-media.
Invertober Day 19: The whitespotted jelly from Australia. I gravitated toward lists with an actual creature or species than vague prompts more this year because it was easier on my tired brain. A species I'm familiar with since we have them at work. Added a light ink wash to pull out some of the lighter patterning. Pentel brushpen, Prismacolor fine-line marker, and Bombay Black with brush on Canson mixed media.
Invertober Day 7: A common banded hoverfly referenced from some Encyclopedia of Life photos. Proportions are a bit off and I initially miscalulated the number of bands, which called for some correction. Pentel brushpen and Prismacolor fine-line marker on Canson mixed media.
