How is life in Alaska? What’s life like in Fairbanks, Alaska where it can be as cold as -40 or lower? There is no denying that life is different in Alaska and two years into our time here has definitely been an adventure. How do you survive winter in Alaska? Today I want to share a little bit of my heart on living in Alaska and surviving life below zero. It’s been awhile since I wrote this kind of blog post and I’m so happy with what it ended up being. To go along with it, here are 5 things you probably didn’t know about Alaska: 1️⃣ Alaska is the largest state in the country (it’s twice the size of Texas)! 2️⃣ The Northern Lights can be seen in Fairbanks 243 days a year. 3️⃣ Some of the hottest and coldest temperatures in Alaska happen in Fairbanks. It can be 90F in the summer and -60F in the winter. 4️⃣ During the summer solstice, the daylight hours peak at 22 hours of complete daylight. 5️⃣ Winter in Alaska lasts roughly from October through March.
