"BAD LANDS"
by D*Face
Established in 1817 as a military post, Fort Smith's law enforcement heritage made it a popular base for migrants and today it has grown to become Arkansas' second largest city. When the @JustKidsOfficial curated @UnexpectedFS festival was launched in 2015 British artist Dean Stockton, aka D*Face was among the inaugural set of painters asked to transform the walls in this "unexpected" location. Given complete creative freedom over their compositions a surprising number of participants reportedly chose to incorporate the frontier heritage of Fort Smith into their work, with D*Face managing to combine some of his trademark zombie and skeleton elements into this cowboy scene on Garrison Ave and N 4th St. @dface_official
