Happ promises to crack down on for-profit colleges | minnesota.allembru.com
Veterans at for-profit colleges often find diplomas come up short | minnesota.allembru.com
JustMaybeCo. is a for-profit. Can a for-profit company make advances toward educational justice?
Why ‘for-profit’? I try to stay away from the term 'profit' because of its connection to all the ills of vampire capitalism. What I am focused on is sustainability of a movement towards the evolution of education in the US and abroad. With the advent of crowdfunding, non-profits have begun to make leaps and bounds in their ability to be flexible within bureaucracy and respond to community issues. However, I always had my second thoughts about movements based on philanthropy and charitable giving. Are you solving a problem or building a career on its existence? When I think about the positives of market-based companies, free market values state that your value is based on the impact of the service you provide. If it doesn’t solve the need of its customers, the company will cease to exist. Through JustMaybeCo., I intend to take that narrow path amidst decades of unfulfilled promises and failed implementations in our ability to erase America’s rising educational debt.
