Sun hurt. His muscles were sore, but it was a goo ache. It was the ache of a good fight. He was in the middle of laughing at something Neptune had said when he noticed team RWBY coming down the corridor.

“Hey!” he said brightly, jogging over to them, “So, what’d you guys think? Pretty awesome, huh?” He grinned at Blake, waiting for her response. Truth be told, like half the stuff he did out there might have been to impress her. Sure, the crowd was cool and all, but he never really cared about that kinda stuff.

How quickly things could change. yesterday, team RWBY was on track to winning the entire Vytal Festival. Today, Yang had been accused of assaulting a fellow student after a match. Weiss believed Yang when she said she saw Mercury attack, but...regardless of what she thought that wasn’t what happened. Countless people watched her attack a yielding opponent.

Blake’s story was what had really hit home for Weiss. She, too, knew what it was like to have someone absolve themself of guilt by saying they were provoked. She knew Yang was nothing like her father, of course, but it still fetl all too familiar.
