ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THE INSTRUMENTALS AND VOCALS IN THIS ONE!!! This is one hundred percent a band that I'm going to return to! And it's only got 15 monthly listerners? Fucking tragic.

I've always been terrible at identifying genres but I think this is reggae? Perhaps some form of ska? Or just general jazz? Either way it's a super enjoyable combination of drums, horns, and guitar! And the singer's delightful voice is just the cherry on top:-D

This is just some very nice and gentle instrumental music:-)) Really relaxing honestly and some great flute work! I think I'd have more to say about this one if I actually knew any music theory but, for now, all I have to add is that this was some good folk(?)

I really really like the little opening melody of this song! The instrumentation is pretty good too even if the vocals aren't quite my thing:-) I especially enjoyed the bit of guitar around the 2:40 mark.

THIS was a song that suprised me a lot!! Because I don't know what I was expecting from the album cover but it definitely wasn't anything this good. Short song that packs a suprising punch in both vocals and piano! Also I did not expect there to be electric guitar as an acompanyment! Like what?? I didn't think that I'd genuinely like this but here I am. Gobsmacked.

A loooooong song today! Almost 12 minutes!

It's very clearly one of those pieces of music that's meant to invoke a feeling more than anything else (makes sense since it's from an album that's an homage to a museum) (And Lousiana at that-- okay I'm getting ahead of myself back to the music)

It's some pretty good background music all around! Although I would say that the song doesn't really begin until the halfway mark when the instrumentals really kicks in. So even though I did enjoy the bass plucking at the 4 minute mark I think most people would enjoy the piece more if they skipped ahead:-)

Okay I have quite a few thoughts for such a long, slow song.

First of all I also listened to The Forest from the same album and that song picks up the rhythm a lot more. So I think Authenticity might just have been a special case here!

I very recently came across someone talking about Forgotify! Which is, for those who aren't in the know, a website that allows you to find millions of unheard spotify songs at random. And I have to say I was so goddamn charmed by the concept that I instantly spent 20 minutes looking through it! But after a bit I began thinking: "Hey! Wouldn't it be neat if someone did small, positive reviews for these songs? As a sort of archive?" Then, realising that there might never be such a someone if I didn't step in to fill that void, this blog was born!

So yeah! As an avid music-liker who thinks you can find something you'll like in every song I'll try to give you a rec and a few thoughts every day:-) Although, fair warning, I actually don't know that much about music! So you'll have to bear with me if I get any terminology wrong.

But... if I ever happen to stumble across any bigoted hate songs without noticing please send me a message so I can remove it from the archives. We don't want racists, fascists, terfs, or any other of that sort here. We're here for music, not hate.

That being said: I hope you find something you'll like in these archives, as no art deserves to go unknown:-)
