Devotional Day Eleven
Today urges us not to abandon God when times are good. He is not a bad weather friend, He should always be the driving force of your life. Faith is not just for overcoming hardship. Celebrate your wins with God, for it is he who created them. Allow these blessings to strengthen your bond with the Lord.Â
It also gives warning not to dwell in the celebrations, just as it said not to dwell on worry do not get stuck in victory. Give God the thanks he is due and move forward to the next challenge.Â
I feel that it is a bit strange that they say not to dwell in victories. Aren't we supposed to focus on the positive? If we are not dwelling on worry or victory what can we think about? I think the true message is not to become Proud. As I was reading some Psalms last night I noticed that Proud was used to describe the wicked. We have to be wary of becoming to cocky. We must remember that God has given us his blessings and that without him our victories are hallow. While we should keep our minds on the glory that God provides we cannot reach a point where we are taking credit and bragging about our good fortune. We must stay humble.Â
