Wait, I saw that episode of Adam Ruins Everything and it seemed to pretty much agree with what I've heard from any other source on how the electoral college works. What was exaggerated?
Oh, he makes it seem like faithless electors happen all the time when they don’t. He picks the most extreme examples of electoral imbalance and completely ignores that, in elections, you vote for like 25 different things that matter greatly to the future of your country and your community, not just who the president is.
Again, I think the Electoral College is not ideal, but anyone with a public platform who says that most of the country “might as well stay home” can go eat a dirty cabbage.
