Delicious Tikka Pizza in Ford Rd, Canton, MI

Forge Pizza just closed the Jack London Square location. It still has a restaurant in Napa and the one at the Oakland International Airport opened recently. The airport location has a large bar and a bartender. I wasn’t sure if the bartender took food orders, since you can order from the self-serve kiosk. However, the sign said to use the kiosk for takeout orders only.

The menu includes breakfast items served till 10 AM (breakfast pizza, skillets, bagels, cinnamon rolls), starters, salads, pizza, and sandwiches. There is also a $10 value meal. Pizzas are made to order. They are 10 inches in size (meant for one person) with four slices.

When you order the pizza, you can customize it by leaving off ingredients or adding a few ingredients. Expect to wait at least 15 minutes.

Cauliflower pizza ($24): gruyere, mozzarella, Parmesan, roasted cauliflower, leeks, arugula salad, parsley, marojam, pesto-basil sauce. The pizza looked smaller than A16’s. I was surprised by the abundant amount of arugula salad. It had some kind of dressing, so it really did feel like a salad on top of the pizza. Luckily, I do love arugula. The crust was thin, chewy, and slightly puffed up, with crispy edges. It was good but I do like a puffier edge. The toppings were good but some bites were a bit too salty. I did taste the gruyere, leeks, and sweet roasted cauliflower. Pretty good. I did like A16’s mushroom pizza better though (better crust, better seasoning). I’d rather have salad on the side rather than on top of the pizza. The salad just falls off the pizza.

The Oakland Airport is getting another pizza place called District. Wish they had more variety. There are two Mexican restaurants, two pizza places, a hot dog place, three coffeehouses, and
