I spent Valentine’s Day determined to shoot a roll of film. I also took the Canon Rebel XT digital camera to Forest Lawn cemetery and shot whatever I found interesting. In this case, one of the interesting finds was a fake bird perched on a tree, along with artificial flowers tucked near it. I also tried to take photos of real birds later on, which proved more difficult to photograph. Overall I learned that an interesting location does not always make interesting photographs, mainly due to challenges of what to include vs not include within the frame. Composition is going to prove to be a challenge for me, but I am determined to get better at it, or just “get it”, period.
