Bernheim Forest (created by German-Jewish immigrant Isaac W. Bernheim) is currently under threat. Two projects – a natural gas pipeline and a proposed Interstate 65/71 Regional Connector – have the potential to destroy Bernheim as we know it. This potential seizure of pristine conservation lands ignores the conservation easements put in place to protect this beautiful and biologically diverse land. If these projects are completed, they will have an irreversible impact on wildlife, clean air and water from which the entire community benefits, and visitors to Bernheim, who visit from all 50 states, boosting our local economy.
