Nearly two months after Landon asked Forest to move in with him (it wasnât really an ask, but more of a âwhy isnât this already a reality?â thing), Forest carried his final box of miscellaneous shit that he couldnât let himself throw away but had no real need to be anywhere in a house besides a small room in the back of a closet. His family photos that heâd taken out of storage when he first came with his friends to Romulus were erected around the house, on the walls, in drawers, on cabinets. But some things had Mother and Father written all over them, and while they had no real use, he couldnât let go of his parents knowing their time would be up sooner rather than later.Â
Forest wasnât a sentimental person, moving so much and having to pack so little while doing bounty hunter things made him easily throw things away once they had lost their value. After all, a good chunk of his money had gone to his parents to help them keep afloat, so he only really kept necessities on his body. Still, for some damn reason it took almost two months from the Fourth of July Summer festival until the absolute end of August to move his small apartment into Landonâs home. Forest joked it was because they didnât need two of everything, and they had multiple garage sales to get rid of the worst of their colanders, dutch ovens, bathroom towels, rugs and the like. Thankfully Forest had gotten most of his shitty, hand-me-down furniture from The Used Shop, which was basically a Good Will of anything you could think of for the townsfolk of Romulus. People came and went, people bought or made new items, some carpenters tore apart the bare bones of furniture and made new things altogether.Â
That is what Forest loved about his new home, Romulus. It was the perfect place to raise a family, perfect place to start afresh, perfect place to make friends. Most people were safe, but no council was perfect and Forest kept his eyes peeled for the handful of folk he knew he would never trust.Â
After he had emptied his car of the final crumbs of belongings, Forest made his way up the stairs, stripped, and joined Landon back in bed. The day before they had scrubbed the apartment and, with their age, they were both feeling a bit tired. But there was also no excuse needed to stay in bed all day. âIâm officially moved in,â he sang, kissing the five oâclock shadow on Landonâs cheek and smiling into his warm, delicious-smelling skin. âMy furniture is gone, all of our duplicates, and my family photos are in almost every room in the house. Thereâs no talking your way out of this, Mr. Superstar,â he chuckled deeply and rubbed Landonâs chest. âGuess youâll have to start writing your Self Help: How to Live With A Werewolf book pretty soon.â
