Rose had to be taken to a ship, too tired to move on her own. The illness had taken hold of her quick and left her body frail. Though, she never gave up hope on a cure. She never gave up hope that everyone would survive. And she was right. Rose opened her eyes slowly, adjusting to the new light. “Nn..” Rose muttered, rubbing at her face. “Iris?” Rose was a bit surprised, to see Iris waiting for her to wake. 

rey was someone who trusted far, far too easily. and hey, she was trying to work on that but in some cases, she just couldn’t see why she shouldn’t trust someone. someone like iris. “what do you mean by that?” she asked. 

“oh, i know where to point it,” orion grumbled, crossing her arms as she sank further into her seat. she was just itching to get back on the field after years and years of making herself stay put in the confinements of the base and simple missions that didn’t have a high risk. “let the younger ones handle it, orion,” she remembered hearing. “it’s past your time now.” like hell it was. there was a new found strength with being in this younger body and she was determined to put it to use. “i’ll be damned if i don’t drive this first order fuckers into the ground.” 

“Yeah,” Shocadi agreed. Though, it wasn’t until recently that she started getting back up again. So used was she to staying down until the threat passed. “I know. I’m still learning to do that.” 

“I think that’s noble. It’s hard to remain pacifistic during a war.” And often, not possible. Unless you worked in the sidelines like Rose. Until recently.
