I fear I relate to silly middle aged men way too much

i hope one day, you will look into the mirror and know who stands there. i hope you'll know it is you without reaching out to touch, just to check if it's a stranger in your home. i hope you will see familiar lines and smile a bit to yourself. i hope one day, you will look down on your body and be sure it is real. i hope you'll understand just by being that this, this is where you belong, and moreover it is where you are. i hope you will never again have to pinch your skin to be sure that it's really yours. i hope one day, your life will be as much of a home as some house you've tied part of yourself to. and i hope you won't feel that terrible disconnection between reality and what you're living ever again. i really hope that you'll laugh with your friends and know, instinctively, that this is real. this is here. but this is not all there is.
