The sun sets across the ranch hidden behind the dense Eterna forest. Those who inhabit it started to take to their resting places, may it be a tree for the toddler Rayquaza, or to the forest for those who protected the forest bound by promises, but for some it is not yet the time for sleep.
For some, it's just the beginning of the day.
The soft twinkling of a music box adorns the night with a sweet melody only for those who are bound by it.
"Hnnngh......ouch." Marcus yelps as his clicks his shoulder blade into an awkward spot before resting his arms enveloped by the ever baggy and comforting sleeves of the jumper he adorned when this form was born.
"...." TC looks up at Marcus with a forever grouchy expression that can only be summarised with the words "I'm tired of everyone's bullshit".
Marcus takes notice of his beloved expression and gently taps both of her shoulders.
"It's been a rough day, hasn't it? Don't let it get you down..." He says as he lowers his head to level with hers before pecking her nose and winking as he continues.
"The night is still young and---" His bold move is consequently blocked by a chopping board to the face.
"You deserved that." says TC as she puts the chopping board back into the sink of hot water and suds, ever wounding her lovers pride.
"...My face wasn't dirty y'know...." Marcus says as he rubs his aching nose. That whack must've packed a punch.
"Can never be too sure. Besides, I haven't actually washed this yet. Didn't you notice that you're not wet?" TC scowls at Marcus' oblivious nature.
He touches his face, much to his surprise, it isn't wet...or sudsy.
"Oh...."
TC shakes her head, her bangs wave from side to side.
"Idio--"
Before she realises what has happened, Marcus has his arms wrapped around her chubby waist, which squeeze her tightly against his chest.
TC quickly begins to struggle slightly, ever flustered by these quick embraces.
"Le--Let me go!! I-I!! Nnnn..."
He rests his head on her shoulder and brushes his cheek against hers.
"......Listen to the music, Cat."
TC forgot that the music box was still playing in the background, which isn't like her at all since music is one of the things that help her get through each day, regardless of genre, it helped, but the music box Marcus had made for her was her more treasured and loved possession.
".....o-oh...I had...I forgot that was still going."
Her body relaxed considerably as soon as she took notice of the melody, it had not only relaxed her body but also her emotions as was noticed by Marcus as she touched his hand that was caressing her body.
"I'm sorry about that." She says as she smiles softly.
"...." Marcus' cheeks puffed up as he comes to a realisation that he wished he didn't.
"Love?"
"Yeah?" says TC, but as she starts to turn around after he lets go of her, she realises too.
"My hair...when did it...get stuck in the draw!?!?" exclaimed Marcus as they realise that TC had locked some of his annoying long hair into the cutlery draw.
"Pffbt....oh my god..." TC chuckled which got into a loud laugh straight from the stomach, so much so she bends over to help contain her laughter.
Marcus grumbles loudly as he forcefully opens the draw to extract his hair and slams it shut again.
TC stands back up and wipes away the tears formed in her eyes as her laughter softens to a stop.
"God, you're an idiot." she says as she stands on her toes to kiss her ridiculously tall boyfriend on the cheek.
Marcus turns and stares at her silently for a few moments, worrying TC.
"Is...is there something on me?" she says as she scans herself for bugs or any other foreign matter.
"Only me!" Marcus shouts as he scoops TC off her feet and starts prancing from the kitchen to the staircase.
"Wah..." TC blinks before coming to realise what just happened and where she's headed.
Marcus chuckles softly as he starts ascending the staircase.
TC then starts to struggle again but to no use.
