#forbidden darkness

Harry's eyes searched over various tomes in the library. He'd spent his day alone, having woken to an empty bed, the sheets pulled up around him, and the locket the only thing remaining on his naked body. Harry couldn't tell how long it had been since Voldemort left him; the sheets were rarely warm from his body, but it made something squeeze in his chest at waking up by himself. Eventually, once he'd dressed himself and readied for the day, he had ventured downstairs only to find that the manor was apparently empty too. Neither the twins nor Ron and Hermione appeared throughout the day. He figured that if the twins were still around, and not taken with Voldemort in the morning, Ron was trying to spend as much time with his brothers as possible after not seeing them for months and on the verge of losing them just as quickly again.

It took Harry the rest of the afternoon to figure out what exactly Voldemort wanted from him.

Lunch was tense to say the least.

If someone had told Harry a year ago that he would willingly submit to Voldemort after the man had kidnapped his friends, he probably would have agreed if the circumstances were right.

Harry was sitting in what he thought might be a parlor with Ron and Hermione when Tom came for him.

"Wake up!" The words jolted Harry from sleep. It wasn't exactly peaceful sleep, but it wasn't terrible either. Mostly, Harry remembered darkness. He supposed that was why two words could wake him.

Well, the last time he had seen Ron, he was watching Ron's back slip through the opening of their shared tent. As for Hermione, Harry was the one to leave that time. Had the two of them found each other again? When had they found each other? Were they looking for him? Did the Order know Voldemort had captured Harry? Did it even count as capturing him since a horcrux had commandeered his body to surrender him to Voldemort?
