Soundscape: "Fall In Love" - Phantogram
Happy new music Tuesday with the latest release from New York based duo, Phantogram. If you're looking for an album with a major dose of everything from synthpop, electronic to hip hop or what Phantogram have called “street beat”, check out Voices. This band flawlessly blends addictive beats, swirling synths and pulsating bass for an atmospheric sound that will be playing long after the party is over. Sarah Barthel's airy vocals weaving through Josh Carter's guitar and melodies (hit play on "Nothing But Trouble") make these tracks even more alluring and mysterious. In every beat, is a beat of a broken heart, but you would never feel it with the level of energy from this duo. Voices is a bit darker than previous releases, but it also goes deeper and sounds more connected than past records. Do I dare say, so early in the game that it will be on asoundesign's best of ’14? The answer is yes.
