Ensiferum - For Sirens
This song is actually the standard sailor-caught-by-a-siren narrative, but it’s so easy to hear this as about someone on the aromantic spectrum who’s confused, upset and angry about experiencing romantic attraction!
(No reason it can’t be about an aro caught by a siren and has been forced to experience romantic feelings, something I personally find more interesting than the standard “a-spec folks are immune to sirens” approach.)
This one’s for my fellow metalheads who like folk metal with a mix of grunt and clean vocals, but I’d consider this song pretty soft/melodic as metal goes (and the grunts fairly comprehendible, speaking as an autistic with auditory processing weirdness).
