Our "cinematic universe" expands in my dream. We're not in Beppu, not even Malaysia or Vietnam. You were in the US, i think somewhere like Chicago (so Midwest emo of you). I am traveling to the west coast, San Francisco, and wanting to visit you and the east coast, New York.

I droved across the state to reach NYC, parked my car in the street, trusting you would handle the car later when you're in the city (IDK the details, it's a dream anw). But for some reasons, I meet you first, before you reach my car in the road of NYC.

You've been saying you wanted to visit a small lake/pond in the upstate, so I'm like "let's do what you like first, the car can wait". So we drove through the highway, through the snow (it's winter in my dream, I wonder why). We came to the pond of your dream, there are people there too, jumping into the pond as if it's summer. All of them looked like they listen to Car Seat Headrest, and tbh you too. Apparently, everyone is paying tribute to a song of some cult rock indie band (type shit I expect you would do too). You jumped in the pond, giddy like a child, looking at me like "you are my witness to the time of my life". You know I do that every chance I get, because you are my best friend.

The blizzard ride back to NYC to get my car is cozy, filled with laughter, and a sense of assurance that I rarely feel. "You are my best friend, my brother of a different mother, my better half of the brain, my witness in this lifetime", like I've always said.

You called up the police (?) before reaching the streets of NYC for my car. They tolled it. "The car has been parked illegally for several days, not to mention, it carried pollen all across states, killing 3 people walking by it already. You might have to prepare yourself for a homicide charge". - "Don't you think that's a bit too serious for our girl?" (the way you said "our girl" was so endearing to me, even though what you're essentially saying is "are you bullshitting me?"). - "Sir, driving across states and carrying pollens of several species of flora has been made illegal in the United States for several weeks now"...

I don't remember what happens next. I just remember how happy I am visiting you and spending time with you. What an odd setting that is. My dear, even though life has separate plans for us, you are forever my dearest. And I thank the fate of my life every day for having met you when I met you. I miss you, and I wish you well.
