ode/rice playing against each other for the first time since they became teammates soon 😵💫😵💫
MATEEEE.
unbelievably hyped.
ive had so many people irl message me about the football yaoi theyve been seeing and i keep informing them that they need to lock into this.
the thing is, if england win it's a fake vindication day for all the rice captain alpha male truthers (because non agenda based reading of the sport is impossible).
if norway win then the mild psychological impact on rice and what that means for rpf writing is really fun.
as a whole match it's actually very interesting too. id say both teams are weak defensively with stronger attack. both in good moods due to their past games.
just thought about them tackling each other on the pitch. great stuff. ode more aggressive lately.

I'll start with books, I recently finished reading Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin which was amazing. I think there's a thread of self-hatred and almost repression that runs through David. He is so harsh but I find myself still really connecting with him. He went through swells of affection that would receed into not so much and it was miserable.
Another book that is a current favourite of mine is Strangers by Taichi Yamada. I think the concept is great and I think even though I'm not too fond of all aspects of the book, I keep going back to read excerpts.
Films is much more for my forte, I think. I think my letterboxd top four is a good place to start on my favourite films: Whiplash (2014), Zodiac (2007), All The President's Men (1976) and 3 Idiots (2009). I think genre wise I really love the whole 'uncovering' of something or trying to solve things so Zodiac and All the presidents men really reflect that. Some honourable mention favs are East is East (1999) although that may be partially due to how much it resonated with me and my brother. Moonlight (2016), i cant believe its ten years old now. It breaks my heart to think about it. I really watched it quite young but there are scenes from that film burned into my memory. Gerry (2002) is a film that I have a great, great fondness for. It has one of the greatest final 10 minutes payoff of any film. I think it's most definitely not for everyone but I think it's just so good. Shawshank Redemption (1994) never gets old for me. 13 Going on 30 (2004) is one of the rare films within that rom-com-ish genre that i truly enjoy and would defend.
odericevertz from the moment they technically won the league to before the world cup. but including my attempts to write more cynically and accurate to my vision of mens football, and attempting to better my writing overall. (+ vertz taking interesting photos w/ his disposable camera that he will never be able to get developed.)
He can imagine Declan, here, superimposed over this image of them. Shoulders sloping into biceps; taut lines creating a stark silohuette. Sharing a body with Kai, sharing a soul. One that isn't looking to bite him in the arse, at least from where Martin is lying.

Bonmatellas I still think about you 😭 I'm just a casual Barca f fan but I always felt they went from coworkers to friends to coworkers again which upset me a bit
tbh they are such coworkers but also there's just so much history and up and downs experienced together that i would love to fictionalise it in the type of coworkers in a 'villain-of-the-week' type procedural rather than real life.
i also feel like the intensity of football makes it such that everything else is washed away when you are in the moment.
In the end i think it was better though, x. (also really rec following this blog). and ultimately at the end of the day, they were just better friends w/ other teammates, that simple. such is life, such is football.
anyway nostalgiasesh,, look at these: i, ii, she held her for so long even later on. loss will bring us closer!
Any other rpf you're into apart from the Arsenal ones
yes, but not many. I'm so hard to please. but i do keep my mind open to fanworks on stuff and youll see i always reblog anything i find interesting or perhaps want to revisit in the future.
ill try and leave a minor wip for any i mention to make this more interesting to read though.
if you go through my account tags and search antonio cabrini and/or paolo rossi you'll find my posting for them. many thanks to the great accounts on here who post about them (and their fics). they're really great, a lot of sweetness and bitterness. i really love reading the fics that are available about them as they're very unique and well written. some really great stuff there.
His cheeks hollowed a little, a slight sucking noise just audible. Antonio felt it disrupting, largely on account of how obscene it felt to look at it from even just the corner of his eye, the view almost peering around his lids as if to beg for his attention. How could he be expected to ignore?
back in late 2024 i was really into bonmatellas (see tag on my account). It's a little clouded by media rumours and their power in football and their fanbase. But i kind of love that. Although whenever the sweetness comes through, I love it also. i havent given them much attention until finding out p/utellas was leaving as it inspired me to write a bittersweet goodbye fic.
She flicked through the tabs, closing and opening various webpages. Her hand had already made its way through her hair, and she'd also found her nails chewed short and uneven. This was all to say, Aitana hadn't thought about Alexia all day.
No, really, there was a part of her itching to say 'good riddance' in fact.
Only recently have I gotten into b/ellingham/m/bappe, i find the switch from getting along to large rifts within the changing room that has caused the relationship to fracture a little. see posts on my acc under 'judian' tag. pep and arteta is soooo intriguing to me also. one specific article from teta's youth when he was asked to think about pep's doping allegations (see posts on my acc under 'pepteta thesis' tag). i do have a j.felix/r.dias fic on my ao3 but 1). im not particularly proud of that fic, full of naive fic cliche's and far too forgiving and 2). im not really too interested in either player anymore. but its been on my acc a few times so i at least wanted to clear it up lol.
I'll be honest there are probably more not coming to mind rn lol!
rest of the top 6 in the prem and other prem teams for general life reasons and it is generally the football most accessible to me. a lot of city womens also because once again general socialising.
i like to look at roma mens sometimes because i liked watching them a bit after dybala joined. but not often. i take a look at roma's women team in champions league too because for the last three/four seasons they've done well in their league but need to make the extra jump in the cl.
barca/madrid mens because heritage and drama. never a boring day. barca womens had rpf reasons but i also follow a really informative blog about them so im in the loop
i dont support any team because i generally got into it too late and havent particularly formed a proper emotional attatchment to them. i enjoy watching most games so if ive ever got time to watch a game i will. its just that as i get older i have less time to sit down for a full match.
