#MiniatureMonday!
Our reading room exhibit this summer--Moving Stories--features stories about migration and it is in its final months of viewing. Olson Graduate Assistant, Micaela, curated the exhibit because of her interests into her family’s migration story. She wanted to capture and highlight the impacts migrants had in their communities in Iowa as well as the wider United States.
To fit the theme of migration, here is a mini artist book called Mexico Remembered, written by Richard Magruder and designed by Pat Baldwin. The serigraphic illustrations were designed and printed on traditional Mexican, handmade paper called Amate, and done by Ed Clark. The text explores Mexico’s culture and shares it with its readers through vibrant colors and words.
