he can feel someone’s eyes on him, and he turns his head slightly, glancing back, and then gives the faintest sigh.
frankly, he’s tired of seeing the look on floche’s face, the one echoed by so many others who pass him these days. it isn’t that he blames them - if he were in their position, he’d probably be doing the same damn thing. they’re free to judge him for his choice. hate him, if they like. they have a right to it. but he doesn’t need the reminder, the temptation to go back to that moment again and again, the impulse to doubt.
he can’t let himself doubt. he can’t start feeling regret for the choice he made, no matter what fueled it. it’s done now. what no one else seems to understand is that that’s what erwin taught him.
