Kumusta! How were you introduced to the crazy world of anime despite having telenovelas on mainstream tv for more than a decade?
MORNING ANIME! Slamdunk, HxH, YYH and Shaman King. Mainly because those are the only cartoons I get to watch before I leave for school (I was 5 and my biggest crush was Kurapika). And, around my gradeschool years, TV5 with Shakugan no Shana, Ranma ½, etc. My cousin is a big fan, too! I got my first Ghibli film, Spirited Away, from her.
Its also prolly because my mom used to watch Doraemon and Mojako when I was little. Actually, my relatives call me Jari after Mojako’s sister, Mojari, and one of my brothers is called (Do)Raemon HAHA
my fam isn’t a big fan of telenovelas (bc of my dad tbh) and most of my days were spent in school anyway. And, as a kid, I wouldn’t want to watch drama about adults and stuff (all I can remember watching were Super Twins, Darna, the original versions of Mulawin and Encantadia and some Koreanovelas like Jewel in the Palace and Hwang Jini haha)
But I think the main reason would be my love for drawing. I LOVED drawing, I still do, and watching “moving drawings” just !!! did it for me.I guess that includes western cartoons, too, but I can skip an episode of SpongeBob and it wouldn't affect the whole series.. I just CAN'T skip an episode of HxH. I ended up watching less western cartoons and more and more Japanese animations until anime was all I watch!
too long but yepp! That's that!
