When the night rolled in and the world fell silent, even if it was only for a moment, she is wide awake. Sometimes it’s out of her own free will; she wants to stay up and work on her songs, wants to stay up to talk to someone she feels comfortable around, wants to stay up to take a walk to clear her head. Other times she is forced to stay up because insomnia came knocking at her door, returning and making its presence known much like how Hansel and Gretel found their way back home with their white pebbles, much to the chagrin of their mother. Tonight she stays up willingly, wrapping herself in her warmest of clothes before she ventures outside in the cold. It’s winter and it’s also late at night, the combines forces of the two factors made the weather that much worse but she wouldn’t be staying outside for too long. Her destination is a black car she had rented, a different one from the last car she rented; a trick she had learned from the younger female. To think that an idol with ten years under her belt didn’t think of changing the rented cars every time they went out. It was almost embarrassing. To her defence, she had always been careless to the dismay of her manager and company.
With the younger female though, she doesn’t take any chances. Chaeyeon is big on privacy, understandably, and she could learn a thing or two from the younger female. Quickly shooting a text as a reminder, she starts the car and is soon on her merry way to pick up the other female. Midnight escapades had become their way of communicating; taking long drives to nowhere in general with the city as the backdrop. Lyra always looked forward to these getaways. Parking the car a little further away from Chaeyeon’s apartment, as to not attract any unwanted attention, she waits for the younger female to appear.
